At Corporación María Perlaza, we are proud to support young people as they pursue their life goals, develop their talents, and discover new opportunities through education.

Santiago Patiño Herrera, a young participant in our Horizontes Universitario program, continues to achieve success in Colombian Andean music. On October 4, he won in the Original Vocal Composition category at the 7th Fabio Alberto Ramírez Festival with his pasillo, Todo menos tú (Everything but You). One week later, on October 11, he received the award for Best Original Composition at the 51st National Colombian Andean Music Competition, Antioquia le Canta a Colombia, for his composition Carta a la Paz (A Letter to Peace).

These two national awards recognize his talent as a composer and fill us with pride as we see him continue to build his future through music.

Two Awards Recognizing Santiago’s Talent

The first award came on October 4, when Santiago won in the Original Vocal Composition category at the 7th Fabio Alberto Ramírez Festival with his pasillo, Todo menos tú.

This achievement highlights his artistic work, creativity, and dedication to Colombian Andean music, a genre that forms part of our country’s rich cultural heritage.

Later, on October 11, Santiago received a second award, winning Best Original Composition at the 51st National Colombian Andean Music Competition, Antioquia le Canta a Colombia, for his composition Carta a la Paz.

Both awards represent an important milestone in his musical journey and are a source of pride for Corporación María Perlaza. They also allow us to highlight young people’s abilities and the importance of creating opportunities for them to explore their interests, strengthen their talents, and pursue their personal and professional goals.

Horizontes Universitario: Supporting Young People’s Life Goals

Horizontes Universitario is a program run by Corporación María Perlaza that supports adolescents and young adults on their journey toward higher education, providing opportunities to continue their education and develop their talents.

Santiago’s story reflects this mission: supporting young people as they develop their abilities helps them work toward their goals, recognize their strengths, and discover new opportunities to share their skills with others.

At Corporación María Perlaza, we believe education goes beyond academic learning. It also means recognizing each young person’s interests, supporting their individual journey, and helping them find opportunities to reach their full potential.
