Following the earthquake on August 10, individuals, organizations, and institutions in Cali and other areas came together to help, demonstrating that when we join forces, we can reach those who need it most.

In response to this situation, at Corporación María Perlaza, we chose to support affected families one by one. We have mobilized efforts, coordinated support, and received generous monetary and in-kind donations that have allowed us to reach directly those who need it most today.

Our work has also reached educational institutions with which we have been working as part of our educational mission. At Institución Educativa Normal Juan Ladrilleros, in Buenaventura, we delivered desks for children, games, educational materials, clothing, and food supplies for families.

This support network has also been joined by institutions such as the Mayor’s Office of Santiago de Cali, which donated 80 food packages to help us continue supporting families who are going through difficult times.

But this process is only just beginning. Some families have lost their homes or have been forced to leave them, and today they need support to rebuild their lives. Standing by them requires time, resources, and sustained efforts.
